New Orleans Pelicans star player Zion Williamson gave the team a big scare when he broke his right foot during the offseason creating doubts whether he would be available for the start of the 2021-22 season or not. The forward underwent surgery before the NBA Summer League as was confirmed by David Griffin, Pelicans executive vice president of basketball operations.
Williamson has always had ill luck in terms of injury, in the past during 2019-20, his rookie season he could play for just 24 games and then was sidelined after a knee injury then next season his season ended early because of a thumb injury. Still, Williamson averaged 25.7 points, seven rebounds, and 3.2 assists over his 85 career games all of which were with Pelicans, and is ready to be back in action this season.
