It was 23 April 2013, when Chris Gayle scored an unbeaten 175 against Pune Warriors India (PWI), making it the highest individual score in the IPL. Additionally, he also scored the quickest century in T20 cricket taking Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to a 130-run victory against Pune. Thanks to Gayle, Bangalore was the first team that crossed 250 runs mark in the IPL. To date, RCB’s 263 for 5 stands to be the highest team total in the history of the Indian Premier League.
The match between Bangalore and Pune got delayed due to uncalled rains but whatever followed after that was phenomenal. Gayle opened the batting for Royal Challengers and in just 17 balls he made it to his fifty before he registered a 30-ball hundred which is recorded as the fastest century in the IPL.
