Many senior players fell short of the high-calibre performances that were expected of them in such a significant game. Fans have the impression that the Test team may need to be rebuilt, with certain players being phased out.  KS Bharat had large shoes to fill after Pant, and in his five Test matches, he wasn't quite able to live up to expectations.
