AB de Villiers’s powerful performance puts Royal Challengers Bangalore back on the map after some disappointing run at the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Smashing home 73 off 33 balls RCB posted a huge target of 194/2 at the Sharjah Stadium and with the help of Yuzvendra Chahal and Washington Sundar they managed to limit Kolkata to a paltry 112/9.
Navdeep Saini triggered the downfall of Kolkata with the collapse of Tom Banton. Nitish Rana and Shubman Gill were allowed to add just 25 before they eventually fell to Sundar’s astute bowling. The field day for Bangalore bowlers saw seven great Kolkata batsmen return without posting double-figure runs exposing Kolkata’s weakened Line up early in the game with Sundar and Chris Morris taking 2 wickets each.
RCB now is placed 3rd on the table with 10 points right behind Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals.
