Royal Challengers Bangalore sealed a win in the Indian Premier League opener against Mumbai Indians after a thrilling match that went on till the last ball. AB de Villiers hit 48 points to lead RCB to a win in the closed-door match on Friday. The 14th edition of the cash-rich tournament kicked off in Chennai with the Virat Kohli’s team winning the toss and choosing to bowl first.
RCB restricted MI to 159-9 and later chased the target down with two wickets in hand. De Villiers brought a ray of hope for RCB fans when he lifted the team from 120-6 and stayed in till the last over only to be run out on the fourth ball. Harshal Patel clinched 5 wickets earlier and got the chance to showcase his skills in the end as well and now Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s team would take on Delhi on Saturday.
