Pulling off an upset in Big Bash League, Adelaide Strikers grabbed their second win of the season by defeating Hobart Hurricanes by seven wickets in their recent match. Strikers even put an end to their six-match losing streak in BBL11, they were without a win since 9th December. Peter Siddle first did a great job at limiting Hurricanes to just 126 runs with his five-wicket haul at the expense of 23 runs in 3.5 overs.
Later Matthew Short shot his career-best 72 runs with 44 runs and chased down the low target with 29 balls to spare. The team had an ideal start to the match with Siddle at his best, the team dismissed Matthew Wade and Ben McDermott early in the match before they could contribute much to the scoreboard. Later D'Arcy Short and Tim David did offer some resistance but soon fell as well and Strikers all but secured their win with much-needed four points as well.
