India was batting first in the first ODI of the series and Shikhar Dhawan missed out on a century as he helped keep India’s middle-order strong. In the 39th over while he was trying to pull a short of a length delivery, but hit it straight to England captain Eoin Morgan as Stokes rejoiced at his delivery. In the end, he was dismissed at two short of a century in Pune.
His efforts though did not go in vain as he set up the match perfectly for others to score runs quickly in the next 10 overs. He has missed the last four T20I matches against England and in the first match, he scored just four runs.
