Arch-rivals India and Pakistan ends up in the same group at Twenty20 World Cup

The upcoming mega event of Cricket, the Twenty20 World Cup, is scheduled to take place from October 17 to November 14 in UAE and Oman. India and Pakistan will be joined by New Zealand and Afghanistan, newly crowned World Test champions. The possibility of spectacular clashes seems high as the two rival teams, India and Pakistan, have been drawn in the same group by the International Cricket Council.

Round one will happen against eight teams and Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will have to play against six teams to make their spots through qualifying matches. The important matches will be played at the Dubai International stadiums, Sheikh Zayed and Sharjah Stadium, while the initial games will be hosted by Oman Cricket Academy. The game was supposed to be held in India in April and May 2021, but due to the sudden surge in COVID-19, it was postponed for the end of the year.
