Australia all-rounder Cameron Green is in race against time to regain fitness

All-rounder Cameron Green of Australia is running out of time to get well before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series begins after suffering a back ailment that kept him out of the last few matches of the current ODI series against England. Although the extent of the injury is yet unknown, Green may not have much time to heal before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series kicks off in less than two months.

Replacing the towering all-round player won't be an easy task. During Australia's 2023–24 home summer, Green and Mitch Marsh were the team's only seam bowling all-rounders. However, Green was typically utilized before his fellow Western Australian when it came to the ball.  After Marsh successfully re-established himself in the Australia XI towards the back-end of the 2023 Ashes, Green was moved up to No. 4 for the subsequent home summer.
