Australia beat South Africa to join India in the finals

Australia advanced to a title match against hosts India on Thursday after defeating South Africa by three wickets in the second World Cup semi-final played here. Ahmedabad will host the championship game on Sunday. After losing their first four wickets, South Africa reached 212 all out thanks to a century and 116 balls from David Miller. Australia choked again on a grand scale, chasing 213 with 16 balls remaining after South Africa faltered in response.

To set the stage for Australia's chase, Travis Head raced to 62 off 48 balls while David Warner hammered 29 off 18 in a 60-run opening partnership. Miller had earlier achieved his century with a maximum over deep midwicket off Australian skipper Pat Cummins, after he had struck eight fours and five sixes. After winning the toss, South Africa decided to bat and got off to a catastrophic start, losing both of their openers, Temba Bavuma and Quinton de Kock in the sixth over.
