Australia clinch Sri Lanka T20 series

A decisive win for Australia as they seal a T20I series win against Sri Lanka by securing the third back to back win in the five-match series. The unassailable 3-0 lead help the world champions render Sri Lanka deflated as they win the third Twenty20 clash by six wickets on Tuesday.

Glenn Maxwell knocked 39 off 25 balls at Manuka Oval as Australia overcame two early wickets as Aaron Finch’s 35 and Maxwell’s efforts gave Australia a fighting chance to reach their 122 targets within 19 overs and at the loss of four wickets alone. Sri Lanka held the bat first but cracked under Australia’s bowling pressure posting just 121 for six with Dasun Shanaka scoring the team’s best 39 runs later they did not defend well enough to stay alive in the limited over series.
