Soon after winning their maiden T20 World Cup 2021, Australia is ready to dive back into action and has revealed a 15 member squad for the two Ashes Tests against England. The Aussies have selected Usman Khawaja in the squad who is the surprise addition this time around. The player had averaged 40.66 runs and hit eight centuries in his Test career. Khawaja has not played for Australia in the Test series since August 2019 and ends his two-year hiatus now.
Australia also omitted Mitchell Marsh from the squad. The first of the Ashes encounter is scheduled for 8th December in Brisbane then the teams would meet for a day-night match in Adelaide on 16 December. The squad also features opening batsman Marcus Harris, Fast bowler Jhye Richardson, leg-spinner Mitchell Swepson and paceman Michael Neser. Other noteworthy absentees are Wicketkeeper-batsman Matthew Wade and batsman Will Pucovski.
