Mitchell Starc takes a step back from the T20I squad citing personal reasons. The Australia pacer will leave the biosecure bubble ahead of the second T20I against India which is scheduled to take place in Sydney. Starc was recently informed of his family illness that might the reason for taking a step back from T20I. The Australian squad has already undergone an overhaul due to injured players, David Warner, Ashton Agar, and Marcus Stoinis.
Australia head coach, Justin Langer is supportive of the decision, he says family holds an important place in anyone’s life and if Starc wants to leave now that is all right we would be here to welcome him back with open arms. There is no replacement for the pacer with Andrew Tye and Daniel Sams already participating and the squad has also rested Pat Cummins.
