Australia would be without eight top players in West Indies and Bangladesh tours

Cricket Australia has a jam-packed calendar this year with the ICC T20 World Cup being the main event of the year. Australia also has a limited over a tour of West Indies and Bangladesh coming up before the World cup and both countries would have their own set of quarantine rules. But because of bio-bubble fatigue eight of the top players- Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, David Warner, Pat Cummins, Jhye Richardson, Marcus Stoinis, Kane Richardson, and Riley Meredith would miss the two series.

After the Indian Premier League was suspended on May 4 many Australian players were forced to stay in the Maldives on an extended quarantine which took its toll on the players. Trevor Hohns announced a 23 players preliminary squad which includes backup players like Dan Christian, Cameron Green, Ashton Turner, Wes Agar, Nathan Ellis, and Ben McDermott in case the top players chose to opt-out.
