With Australia missing many of the key players, after the big names David Warner, Pat Cummins, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Jhye Richardson and Kane Richardson all pulled their name out of the hat for the tour and Steve Smith and Aaron Finch injured. Australia has the chance to give other fringe players a chance against Bangladesh in the upcoming five-match T20I series.
Matthew Wade would be serving as captain of the squad once again and hopes to improve on the 4-1 loss against West Indies in the T20I series. Bangladesh recently claimed a 2-1 win in their T20I series against Zimbabwe and would employ the experienced players, Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah, and Soumya Sarkar against Australia. The last time around Australia had defeated Bangladesh by three wickets in the Super 10 stages of the ICC T20 World Cup 2016 in Bangalore. The first match is scheduled for 3rd August.
