Azhar Ali heals from a finger wound fit to bat

Azhar Ali, a right-handed hitter for Pakistan, has healed from an injury he sustained on the fourth day and is now qualified to bat for the balance of the Rawalpindi Test against England, according to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). When they declared and set a target of 343 in four sessions for Pakistan to win the first Test on Sunday, the visitors took a risk. Imam-ul-Haq (43) and Saud Shakeel (24) finished day four at the wicket on 80-2, but Pakistan lost Abdullah Shafique (six) and skipper Babar Azam (four) in their second innings.

In response to Pakistan's enormous first innings score of 65 7, England ultimately knocked them for 579, with debutant spinner Will Jacks taking a career-high 6-161. He struck Azhar Ali with a sharp, rising ball in the same over, forcing him to withdraw with a hurt finger.
