Bangladesh defeated the defending world champions England 3-0 on Tuesday, capping off one of their most illustrious T20I performances in history. Bangladesh put up an outstanding performance as they rallied to defeat England by 16 runs in the third T20I after having already won the three-match series by winning the first two games.
England was 100/1 in 13 overs in the 159-run chase and the heavy favourites to win consolation before returning home. But, with the score at 100, a startling collapse occurred, with the well-positioned duo of Dawid Malan (53) and skipper Jos Buttler (40) returning in quick succession. When Bangladesh was given the opportunity to bat first, they got off to a good start due to a strong opening combination between Litton Das (73) and Rony Talukdar. Afterwards, Najmul Shanto scored a quick 47 runs without being out to raise the score to 158/2.
