Bangladesh drops Shamim and Taskin for the T20 matches against Ireland

All fixtures are scheduled to take place at the Bir Shrestha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Motiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram on November 27, 29, and December 2. Significant roster changes include the exclusion of middle-order batter Shamim Hossain and pacer Taskin Ahmed. Consequently, the duo has been replaced by seaming all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin and uncapped 26-year-old wicketkeeper-batter Mahidul Islam Ankon.

Shamim was omitted following a challenging year marked by underwhelming returns, scoring only 261 runs in 24 games with a disappointing average of just 15.35. Meanwhile, Taskin remains unavailable because his No-Objection Certificate was extended, permitting him to continue competing in the ongoing Abu Dhabi T20 tournament until it concludes on November 30. These strategic squad adjustments reflect Bangladesh's strong intent to field a refreshed and competitive lineup for this anticipated home series.
