Bangladesh expect Hridoy to be fit for New Zealand series

Bangladesh remain optimistic that Towhid Hridoy will be available for the home white‑ball series against New Zealand despite ongoing treatment for a tennis‑elbow problem. With the matches beginning April 17, the BCB medical staff believe his recovery is on track, though his ability to adapt to a lighter, carefully controlled training routine will determine his readiness.

Hridoy, known for long net sessions, must now avoid the repetitive top‑hand movements that aggravate the injury. Team doctors revealed the issue first surfaced during the last BCL and worsened when a yorker struck the bottom of his bat in the Pakistan series, leaving him in significant discomfort and struggling to hold the bat. Since then, Bangladesh have removed the painful drills while continuing all other preparation and advanced treatment.

The board remains confident he will be cleared for all three ODIs and three T20Is if his current progress continues steadily.
