Bangladesh v Pakistan 2021: Pakistan Take a 1-0 Lead

Pakistan recuperated from a top-order breakdown to beat Bangladesh with four wickets in the first T20I match of the three-match series in Dhaka on Friday. At one point Pakistan was 80/6 but a late cameo by Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz rescued the team.

The guests limited Bangladesh to a measly 127-7 when the hosts won the toss and chose to bat first at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. Then Hasan Ali and Mohammad Wasim Jr topped the team with 3-22 and 2-24 figures respectively. Afif Hossain was the top scorer for Bangladesh with 36 off 34 balls. In their chase Pakistan stumbled as well with the score reading at 24-4 at one time, with Mohammad Rizwan going for 11 and Babar Azam for seven, later  Haider Ali and Shoaib Malik both went for ducks further creating tension on the lower order. Khan then delivered a triumphant six to take them to 132-6 with four balls to spare and posted an unbeaten score of 21 runs off 10 balls.
