Basit Ali recently heaped praise on India’s wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant

Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali recently heaped praise on India’s wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant, suggesting he should fetch a record-breaking Rs 50 crore at the IPL 2025 Auction. Pant was India’s standout performer in their heavy loss to New Zealand in the third Test in Mumbai, scoring 60 and 64 in challenging conditions. According to Basit, Pant’s batting made the difficult pitch look “flat,” with his impressive shot selection setting him apart.

Basit dismissed reports valuing Pant at Rs 25 crore, asserting he deserves even more due to his game-changing ability. As the auction nears, team owners are likely excited to bid on Indian stars like Pant and KL Rahul, with record deals expected. Other top players set for auction include Shreyas Iyer, Arshdeep Singh, Washington Sundar, Mohammed Siraj, and Mohammed Shami, all poised to drive intense bidding wars.
