BBL: D’Arcy Short helps Hobart Hurricanes beat Adelaide Strikers

Daniel Worrall and Danny Briggs had almost cliched the victory in an astonishing chase where Adelaide Strikers were once 101 for 9 and both the players carried the team to 162 but Hobart Hurricanes ultimately won by 11 runs despite Strikers best efforts. Hurricanes travel to the top of the table with two back-to-back wins.

D'Arcy Short's 72 hauls helped Hurricanes post a great target of 173. Peter Handsomb’s side later curtailed Strikers well, in 9 overs their score was 49-6. From their top 7 batting order, only Matt Renshaw made it past single-digit score with an impressive bowling effort by James Faulkner and Johan Botha but the late partnership by Worrall and Briggs saved them from a humiliating loss, Worrall recorded62 off 39 balls and Briggs contributed 35 from 18 balls but could not chase down the 18 runs needed in last over. In another match, Renegades won their match against Perth Scorchers by 7 wickets.
