The England star has announced his retirement from one-day internationals as he shares that the upcoming match against the South African team at Royal London International would be his ODI match on his home ground. The all-rounder played a total of 104 ODI matches including his most famous performance at Lord’s Cricket Ground during the 2019 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup which earned him the Player-of-the-Match award as well.
The 31-year-old’s knock of 84 sent the match into a super over and England won their first Cricket World Cup title in the most thrilling fashion. Stokes has knocked 2919 runs in his ODI career hitting three centuries and knocking down 74 wickets. He even established himself as the leader by captaining the ODI squad and win the Royal London Series against Pakistan with a 3-0 whitewash.
