Bidding for two additional PSL teams is set for January 6

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that the anticipated auction for two new franchise teams in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will occur on January 6, 2026. For its first decade, the tournament featured six competing squads, but the upcoming eleventh edition marks a transformation, featuring eight teams in the world’s second best league.

This development signifies a crucial milestone in the league's growth, aiming to expand its footprint throughout Pakistan while creating novel commercial, sporting, and fan engagement opportunities. The shortlisted cities available for potential allocation include Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Hyderabad, Sialkot, Muzaffarabad, and Gilgit.

Successful bidders at the auction will possess the right to select from these specific city names. It is important to note that only technically qualified bidders will be invited to participate. This strategic expansion promises exciting prospects for cricket enthusiasts as the PSL continues evolving into a larger, more inclusive sporting spectacle for everyone.
