In October, England announced a formidable 17-man team for their three-match Test series against Pakistan. The only players without caps are Brydon Carse of Durham and Jordan Cox of Essex; spinners Rehan Ahmed and Jack Leach are back in the Test lineup. Following the 3-0 Test series success in 2022, eight members of the team—Rehan Ahmed, Harry Brook, Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Jack Leach, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, and Ben Stokes—return to Pakistan.
The only players without caps in the team are Essex batsman Jordan Cox and Durham seamer Brydon Carse. Jack Leach, a spinner from Somerset, is back in the Test lineup for the first time since the first Test in India in January 2024. Rehan Ahmed, a leg-spinner from Leicestershire, will be looking to increase his total of four Test caps. Ahmed made his Test debut in Karachi during the most recent Pakistan trip in December 2022.
