Kolkata Knight Riders fell short by mere seven runs in their chase for 217 runs. Rajasthan Royals players Jos Buttler and Yuzvendra Chahal were the true game-changer during the match. Buttler posted his second IPL century and Chahal clinched five important KKR wickets to help RR stay on top while they defended their high target during the high-octane match on Monday.
KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer’s knock of 85 of 51 balls along with Aaron Finch’s 58 off 28 balls kept the side alive in their chase but Chahal’s crucial 17th over performance where he first removed Venkatesh Iyer then grabbed Shreyas, Shivam Mavi, and Pat Cummins from the fourth, fifth and sixth balls to complete a hat trick and turn the match around.
