Chennai Super Kings faced Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League final at Dubai International Stadium. With a smashing knock of 86 off 59 balls by Faf du Plessis, Chennai Super Kings took down Kolkata Knight Riders by 27 runs to lift their fourth IPL title in the franchise’s career. KKR won the toss and choose to bowl first but could not control CSK’s top batting order who took Bangladesh's star allrounder Shakib Al Hasan for a ride, hitting 33 runs in his three overs to post a total of 192-3 for KKR to chase.
KKR came into the match strong with four back-to-back wins but Shardul Thakur dismantled their batting order with three wickets with two strikes in a single over to limit Kolkata to 165-9 in the final in Dubai. CSK last won the IPL title in 2010, 2011, and 2018 and is one title away from Mumbai Indians’ highest record of five.
