West Indies player Chris Gayle is looking to take his Twenty20 World Cup tally from two to three when he returns to play international cricket against Sri Lanka on Wednesday. His last international appearance was two years ago in a one-day international against India in 2019 and the 41-year-old has since then featured in a number of T20 leagues like Pakistan Super League, he played for Quetta Gladiator before making it back to Antigua for the Sri Lanka series.
When West Indies won the 2012 and 2016 World Cup, he was part of the winning team, and currently, he plans to win the three-match series against the visitors and prepare for another World Cup title in India. Gayle has set a goal for himself to have three World cup wins under his belt.
