Cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi is the most searched Indian of 2025

Bihar’s batting sensation was the world's sixth-most searched individual, trailing only Pope Leo XIV, who became the Catholic Church's head in May. Suryavanshi outpaced designer Bianca Censori, known for controversial fashion, and New York City’s newly elected Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

Domestically, Google reports he generated more interest than cricketers Priyansh Arya and Abhishek Sharma, while the celebrated World Cup champion Jemimah Rodrigues placed fifth.

Suryavanshi gained massive stardom debuting for Rajasthan Royals as the T20 league's youngest player. Later, in April, he became the youngest IPL centurion by smashing a truly historic 38-ball hundred against Gujarat Titans, remarkably ranking as the tournament's second-fastest century ever.

Regarding specific sports events, the Indian Premier League clearly dominated searches, followed by the Asia Cup, then the Champions Trophy co-hosted by Pakistan and the UAE. Remarkably, the Asia Cup was globally the second-most Googled sporting event, sitting just behind the FIFA Club World Cup.
