CSK’s chances to qualify for quarterfinals looks slim

Rajasthan Royals now cruise towards a fifth place on the table with the 7-wicket win, a glimmer of hope for a chance to qualify for the playoffs. Whereas for CSK the chances for qualifying for the playoffs seem uncertain as they persistently remain among the bottom four rankings. CSK’s muddled batting lineup did not stand a chance against Jofra Archer and spinners Shreyas Gopal and Rahul Tewatia restricting CSK an abysmal target of 125/5. One by one all the great batsmen fell without adding much to the score which the unbeaten 98-run partnership of Buttler and Smith could chase easily in 17.3 overs.
