South Africa's T20 World Cup Group D match against the Netherlands in New York on Saturday saw them overcome an incredible early batting collapse to win by four wickets. At the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, South Africa's team cruised to an emphatic win behind David Miller's undefeated 59 off 51 balls. The South Africans finished at 106/6 after holding the Dutch to 103/9 from their 20 overs.
But for a brief while, it appeared as though the Dutch, were about to repeat their famous historic shock on Proteas similar to 2022 T20 World Cup and the 2023 ODI World Cup. After 4.3 overs, the Proteas were in serious trouble at 12/4 and had briefly gone as low as 3/3 due to an early breakthrough by the Dutch bowling attack. However, with a fifth-wicket stand of 65, Tristan Stubbs and Miller pulled South Africa off the ropes and put the Proteas in a winning position.
