David Warner became the 2nd man to score more than 1,000 runs against franschise

David Warner successfully achieved a milestone in his Indian Premier League career when he completed 1000 runs against Punjab Kings on Wednesday. He became the first man in the tournament’s history to achieve this against the Punjab franchise. The Australian open hit his 12th half-century against Punjab as Delhi went to secure their 3rd win this IPL season. 

Additionally, Warner also has the chance to complete 1000 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders as he is just 24 runs away from this milestone. Delhi Capitals defeated Punjab Capitals by 9 wickets putting on a good show after the Covid-19 crisis hit their camp. There was a lot of confusion and nervousness that lead up to the match against Punjab after two players from Delhi Capitals tested Covid positive. Warner and Prithvi Shaw snatched the game away from Punjab with a great opening partnership of 83 runs off 39 balls.
