David Warner was forced to leave the second Test between India and Australia

David Warner has been removed from the second Test between India and Australia after testing positive for a concussion. On the first morning of day one in Delhi, Mohammed Siraj smacked the left-handed starter in the helmet. Warner seems to not have had a concussion test at the time despite receiving care for an elbow injury he sustained earlier in Siraj's stay. He took 44 deliveries before losing to Mohammad Shami for 15 runs. He was removed from the Test after an evening evaluation since he did not enter the field when India's first innings started later in the day.

According to ICC regulations, Matthew Renshaw, who was removed from the side to make room for Travis Head's comeback, has been re-added to the team as his concussion substitute. Before the game resumed, a request for the replacement was made to match referee Andy Pycroft, who granted it. Since August 2019, concussion replacements are accepted in international cricket.
