On Wednesday evening, David Warner released a long-winded pronouncement about his leadership ban review and said he was withdrawing from the entire process. He has stated that his family is more important to him than cricket. Warner talks about the humiliation and attacks his family had to endure over the course of the past nearly five years, since the events that occurred during the Third Test in Cape Town. He thanks his wife Candice and three daughters, Ivy Mae, Indi Rae, and Isla Rose for their unwavering support.
Since that Test and even though his ban from leadership roles had never been lifted, he has taken it upon himself to reform, rehabilitate and transform his approach to the game. He served and has been subject to a crushing, unprecedented, penalty that has horribly impacted him and his family for the past nearly five years without the prospect of any relief until now.
