Lucknow Super Giants had to defend 169 runs against SunRisers Hyderabad, and relied on Avesh Khan to clinch four important wickets from SRH’s lineup to win by 12 runs at the Dr DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Jason Holder did his magic as well picking up three wickets for the side in his debut for the franchise.
Hyderabad’s Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Markram posted a 44-run partnership at the third wicket to offer the side some support as they chased 169 runs on the board but Krunal Pandya left both the player on crutches and sent them home. One by one the lineup failed to score against the seasoned bowlers who defended the work of KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda who powered the side to a big target in 20 overs.
