The India- Sri Lanka tour started on 18th July with India getting an easy win in the first ODI from the Lankans with the help of some great batting by Dhawan, Kishan, and Shaw. The second ODI started off with the Sri Lankan team having a good start as they put up a score of 275/9 on the board. The score would have been more if the Indian pacer Chahar did not put an end to Dhananjay De Silva as he was looking quite set and dangerous.
With some early wickets falling down, India was at 160/6 when Deepak Chahar stepped in with the bat. The Chennai Super Kings star bowler played alongside Krunal Pandya as support but after Pandya lost his wicket, all the hopes were with Deepak Chahar. It is an uncommon sight to see a lower-order batsman hit it with the bat so magnificently. Deepak lead India to their second win against Sri Lanka and their 9th consecutive ODI win!
