A day before it seemed like Australia had walked away with a win against an injury-laden Indian cricket team at Sydney Cricket Ground. Test three make or break for either of the team who are desperate to improve their ranking in the ICC World Test Championship. Australia almost had the win in grip until a splendid performance by India on day 5 sealed a draw.
India resumed at 98-2 chasing a colossal target of 407 without Ajinkya Rahane, Rishabh Pant took charge with 97 and Cheteshwar Pujara added 77 as well in their impossible chase, then Ravichandran Ashwin and injured Hanuma Vihari steered India closer with 334-5. The building pressure on Australia saw Tim Paine drop three catches and India stood its ground against fast bowlers and off-spinners. The decider will begin from 15th January in Brisbane.
