Delhi Capitals picks Anirudha Joshi as Iyer’s replacement

Delhi Capitals’ captain Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out this season due to a shoulder injury he picked up in the first ODI  between India and England after the player dived on a hit by Jonny Bairstow off the pacer Shardul Thakur and dislocated his shoulder. Rishabh Pant would be leading the team in Iyer’s absence and have brought in Anirudha Joshi as a replacement for Iyer. Joshi has served under Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the past.

The player hasn't yet made his IPL debut but in the shortest format, he has 420 runs in 22 matches and taken six wickets. DC also lost Axar Patel, for a few matches after he tested positive for coronavirus and would be replaced by Shams Mulani. South African player Anrich Nortje has also tested positive and has been quarantined.
