David Warner’s unbeaten knock of 92, just a few runs short of a century powered Delhi Capitals to a 21 run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League. Warner and Rovman Powell even put up a 100-plus partnership on their way to help Delhi post 207 runs as the target at the loss of three wickets. Hyderabad in reply could just manage 186 runs as their batting lineup struggled to get going against seasoned Delhi bowlers.
Powell scored quick-fire 67 off 35 balls and stayed unbeaten hitting three fours and six sixes in the process. Capitals climbed into the fifth place on the table and need one more win to lock in the play-off spot. Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s maiden over did put some pressure on DC and even clinched the wicket of Mandeep Singh to offer Kane Williamson’s team a good start but Capitals took back the reigns and ran towards a win.
