New Zealand's Devon Conway became the seventh player in history to score a double century on debut against England recently and with his record-setting performance, he entered his name to ICC Test Batting Rankings as well. With 447 rating points, the highest ever by a New Zealand batsman on debut and third highest ever on debut and is 77th in the list. He scored 200 in the first inning and 23 in the second inning in the drawn Test against England. He was just two points less than England’s RE Foster and one less than West Indies‘ Kyle Mayers.
Foster scored 287 on his debut in 1903 while Mayers scored 250 against Bangladesh this year. Tim Southee’s six-wicket haul didn't go unnoticed either and it pushed him to his career-best third position. While England’s debutant was 91st on the batting list and 69th on the bowling list.
