Brendan Doggett has been ruled out of Australia's upcoming Test series in the Caribbean, starting June 25, due to a minor hip injury. The pacer, who impressed in South Australia's Sheffield Shield triumph with 33 wickets, including a record-breaking 11-140 in the final, will return home.
Doggett, who recently featured in the WTC 2025 final squad and toured with Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, also played three County games for Durham earlier this season. Replacing him is New South Wales all-rounder Sean Abbott. Though uncapped in Tests, Abbott has claimed 33 ODI and 26 T20I wickets for Australia since his debut in 2014. He last played red-ball cricket in March, finishing the Shield season with 19 wickets at 21.94. Abbott's recent form includes a stint with Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League.
