England announces their IT20 squad for Sri Lanka tour

Head Coach Chris Silverwood revealed a 16-player squad for the three-match series against Sri Lanka which would start from 23 June.  The Vitality IT20 Series would be played at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, and also marks a return for Chris Woakes to the IT20 squad for the first time since 2015. Woakes last international duty in this format was against Pakistan in 2015.

The squad also welcomes Yorkshire seamer David Willey who would be playing the format for the first time after May 2021 and would add to his 28 caps. Hampshire spinner Liam Dawson is amongst the list of three specialist spinners. While Ben Stokes, seamer Jofra Archer, and Surrey’s Reece Topley were not selected in the squad because of their respective injuries
