England got off to an ideal start in the T20 World Cup, knocking West Indies out for 55 runs in a six-wicket victory. In a fantastic all-around bowling effort, Adil Rashid took 4-2 - the greatest figures by an England bowler in T20Is - while Moeen Ali (2-17) and Tymal Mills (2-17) each took two wickets as the Windies were swept away in 15 overs.
As the reigning champions crashed to their second-lowest T20I total and the third-lowest at a T20 World Cup, only Chris Gayle (13) reached double figures. England made it difficult for themselves in the chase, falling to 39-4, but the result was never in doubt and they over the line with a boundary from Jos Buttler two balls into the ninth over. The West Indies will play South Africa in their next encounter in Dubai while England will play Bangladesh in Abu Dhabi.
