Even Rohit Sharma's half-century couldn't prevent a loss against Bangladesh

The country's governing body of the sport, the BCCI, applauded him for stepping in when the situation was critical in the second ODI match against Bangladesh. Bangladesh now has a two-goal lead in the series, thanks to their 112-run victory.

They began batting first, but it was a bad start. Mahmudullah (100*) and Mehidy (77) put a match-winning 104-run stand together that came up at 271/7 in their 50 overs. Washington Sundar (3/37) was the pick of the off-spinners for India. Mohammed Siraj and Umran Malik also took two scalps. India was also reduced to 65/4 due to some great spin bowling by Bangladesh. Shreyas Iyer (82) combined with Axar Patel to hit a monster 107-run stand.
