Finch steps down from Renegades’s captaincy role

Aaron Finch has retired from the role of the captaincy of Big Bash League (BBL) side the Melbourne Renegades but is still ready to lead Australia in their T20 World Cup title defense in 2022. Finch’s side claimed their maiden T20 title by thrashing New Zealand in Dubai only a few days back and the team would have less than a year to prepare for their next T20 campaign as the tournament is scheduled for October in 2022.

Spinner Adam Zampa also added that the players would focus on keeping the victorious squad together for the title defense at home, it would be tough playing international cricket but they can get there. The Big Bash League side confirmed the news as well and has selected Nic Maddinson as his successor for the upcoming BBL season.
