Smith, in a webinar hosted by the financial advisor network PSG said that increased score rate, especially in T20 cricket reflects that the tools used for gauging revised scores at present don’t match up with the modern strategy. He says that there was a time when Duckworth-lewis had been famous but the game has moved beyond and with it the scores, the way people think and things that are achievable now. He appeals that the same must be considered in the T20 game. Besides this, Smith doesn’t advocate any other changes to the laws of the game because he is of the opinion that cricket as a game is difficult to understand as it is. It’s a complicated and technical game and keeping the rules simple will work in favour of the sport.
