GT hopes of qualifying for the IPL play-offs was dashed on Monday

The Gujarat Titans' dreams of making it to the Indian Premier League play-offs were scuppered on Monday when rain caused their crucial victory against the Kolkata Knight Riders to end without a hitch. Due to constant lightning and a light drizzle that grew heavier over time, the throw was canceled at the scheduled hour of 7 p.m.The five-over match had a  cut-off time of 10:56 PM, but because to the steadily increasing rain and the soggy outfield, the match officials opted to call it quits—a first for this IPL.

Following their victory over the Mumbai Indians in their last match, KKR had already guaranteed their spot in the play-offs. With 16 points after 12 games, the Rajasthan Royals are ranked second in the rankings, followed by the reigning champion Chennai Super Kings in third position with 14 points from 13 games.
