Gujarat Titans supplant Jason Roy with Gurbaz

Gujarat Titans have marked Afghanistan's Rahmanullah Gurbaz as a substitution for England batsman Jason Roy in the Indian Premier League tournament. The new IPL season is set to kick off this month itself and it would be the first season for Titans. Gurbaz is a wicketkeeper-batsman and had taken part in over 20 T20 internationals before and has a total of 534 runs to his name at a strike rate of 138.

Titans along with Lucknow Super Giants are all set to make their debut with the 20-year-old joining Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad as Afghanistan cricketers for the franchise. Titans had been looking for Roy’s replacement since last month and finally settled on Gurbaz before the new season kicks off in the last week of March.
