India clinched one more victory to lead the three-match series by 2-0 in Twenty20 over Australia by six wickets at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Hardik Pandya’s sixes in the final over helped India’s chase. Before Pandya the match looked out of reach for India, the score suggested India needed 72 runs off 36 balls at one point and Pandya posted 42 off 22 undefeated as he helped India chase the score successfully with two balls to spare. Visitors clinched the first match with 11 runs.
Pandya’s spectacular performance was lauded by Australia coach Justin Langer as well who called him a dangerous player and claimed India’s seasoned T20 players are too good for them. Though Australia’s squad lacked the most lethal players like Aaron Finch, David Warner, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Ashton Agar, who were all pulled out of the squad. The next and last match of the series is set to take place on Tuesday at the same stadium.
