Having undergone surgery, Cameron Green might not start the Indian Test series

During the first innings of the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne, Green broke his right index finger badly while batting, necessitating immediate surgery. Images of the break highlighted how much of an effort it took for Green to bat through the agony and score an undefeated 51 in the second inning. Just days after receiving a large IPL payout, Green said his top objective was returning for the February Test tour of India, but he acknowledged both he and fast bowler Mitchell Starc, who also injured a finger, would be racing against time to get healthy.

When asked about the IPL, Green said, "Of course, the Test Series that comes before that is my primary concern. The first of four matches, the first Test in India, begins on February 9, and the final one on March 9.
